Out of all my magazine subscriptions, I have to say that New England Home has been killing it lately! When I saw the eclectic living room in the Nantucket home of interior designers Lee Bierly and Christopher Drake, my jaw dropped! Black and white accents, softly weathered furniture and touches of Americana blend together seamlessly to create a casual, comfortable living space that is stunning in its simplicity. The rest of the house is just as understated and chic – an unexpected departure from what you might expect from a Nantucket summer home (hello, Buffalo check wallpaper!):

I errantly thought you were mocking buffalo check wallpaper (hey, I love it, but I'm aged!) . . . so what a surprise to find the photo with the said-same checks and the striped upholstery! I've pinned this photo and blogged about it and my ongoing love of checks! Did you see Southern Living's idea house for this year? They painted huge tan checks on the walls of their family room. It ruled! I'd love to put a huge red buffalo check fabric as a skirt under our kitchen's farmhouse sink. I lack the courage and the fabric! TY for your posts and magazine recommendation! I'm going to have to subscribe to this one, too.
