attic inspiration: tamara kaye honey

We’ve been dragging our heels about finishing our upstairs bonus room for a while now, but after seeing LA-based interior designer Tamara Kaye Honey’s STUNNING attic-turned-master bath remodel in the latest issue of Lonny, I’ve got stars in my eyes and major motivation to get my butt in gear!

Beautiful brass accents and warm wood pieces look absolutely amazing against crisp white floors and paneled walls, and the oversize Sputnik-style chandelier and campaign-style vanity are sheer perfection.  I love how most of the space is dedicated to the bath, rather than the bedroom itself, and, with all that natural light and cleverly planned use of all the nooks and dormers, there is a major cozy factor here that usually is hard to come by with a bathroom of this size.

How AMAZING are those brass fixtures??

Placing the shower in the dormer is such a dramatic touch, not to mention a great use of the space.  And those unlacquered brass fixtures are simply divine.  I would NEVER EVER come out of this room, if this were mine:

Here are my picks for getting a similar look:

A fabulous, oversize Sputnik-style chandelier (this one is super affordable!):

A wood and rope chair like this one would add a ton of texture and warmth to an all-white space:

Bamboo pulls in brass, of course:

A big, fluffy sheepskin rug is a must:

A campaign-style dresser like this one would certainly fit in a space this big and be perfect for storing fluffy towels and displaying perfume and jewelry:

And speaking of fluffly white towels, this set from Target is chic, affordable and the texture adds so much interest:

Happy Thursday!
