around here

Happy Friday!  The last few weeks have finally started to feel like Fall around here and I’ve been busy soaking up every little bit of it!  It has been a whirlwind past couple of months, so it’s nice to downshift a little and enjoy the cooler temperatures, the leaves changing and snuggling in front of the fireplace.  I haven’t seen much of my hubby lately, thanks to deployment and training schedules, so I was thrilled when my good friend and photographer Shannon Faith nabbed a few shots of us together at a nearby botanical gardens last weekend:

A shot of my mantle for Fall.  Magnolias and a woven demijohn add a little color and texture.  We burn through candles like no one’s business, but there is nothing like snuggling, watching TV by candelight:

I have beautiful “gilded” pumpkins all over the house, thanks to the most amazing champagne spray paint – love!

A few weeks back, I scored a tobacco basket and an old bread bin at an antiques fair….a few lanterns and more magnolias add a rustic touch to my screened-in porch:

My little guy, Gunner, turned 9 last week.  Can’t believe how fast the time flies.  You’d never guess his age with how playful and energetic he is-I barely got him to sit still long enough to snap this shot on one of our morning walks…

…around this beauty:

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

LOVE these shots. Must steal magnolias from the neighbor's yard immediately. Love the textures & tones of your home…and i'm always a sucker for candles. Enjoy a cozy fall weekend!
