The hubby’s birthday is next month and this will be the first time in THREE YEARS that he will be stateside to celebrate the big day!  That, in itself, is quite a feat, so I’m on the hunt for an amazing gift.  Shopping for the guy who has everything is tough, especially when he would be just as happy barbequing and celebrating with an ice cream cake, in lieu of gifts.  But birthdays are a BIG deal for me, so the pressure is on to get him something amazing! Having started his military career in Hawaii also became the start of a lifelong love of surfing.  I love this “Waiting, Malibu” print by Annie Seaton and it’s available through Minted in many different sizes, all the way up to 44×44!  I think an oversize print like this would be a beautiful gift idea that is not only dramatic and colorful but also pays homage to his love for surfing and a pretty incredible career at that!

Choosing art sizes can be tough, especially oversize pieces, but I love how easy Minted makes it by including a sizing chart for every piece!

I’m so in love with the color palette in this piece and the laid back, casual vibe.  Here are a couple picks I would use to style a room with an oversize piece like this:

Seagrass basket / Waiting, Malibu print / Wicker chair / Christopher Farr Carnival pillow /

Timur Weave pillow / Kasari Ikat lumbar pillow / Knotty Bubbles pendant light /

Blake Raffia coffee table / Dhurrie rug

Here are a few others I’m loving by Annie Seaton – I’m so drawn to all the different shades of blue and the movement of each piece.  The contrast between the water and the silhouettes is beautiful, too.  How amazing would a gallery wall of a bunch of these in simple frames and different sizes be??  Everyone loves the beach so these would make a great gift idea, too! Paddle Boarders / American Idyll II / Surfer Bae

Waiting for Swell / Surfer in Silhouette / Rincon Surfers

Happy Monday!
