amy’s home tour

Some people are just born with a fabulous sense of style and the ability to decorate a room beautifully.  My friend, Amy, is blessed with both.  A middle school teacher-turned-NutriShop owner, Amy’s home is a mix of coastal cottage and low country luxe with a soft color palette, softly distressed furniture and comfortable accessories and there is always something unexpected – whether it’s a mirrored-tile backsplash or an Afghani rug.  When I asked if I could share pictures of her home on my blog, she very kindly abliged, so here we go!

An entire wall of floor-to-ceiling built-ins is the first thing you see in the cozy family room:

Pale blue walls, a distressed pedestal table, an iron and crystal chandelier and zebra print seats add a touch of whimsy to the breakfast area:

I love the crusty, weathered finish on the chairs:

Adjacent to the breakfast nook is the kitchen, where a 1×2 inch mirrored tile backsplash is an unexpected, glamorous touch:

Moving on to the dining room, where chocolate walls, slipcovered chairs and a hand-knotted wool rug from Afghanistan:

I love the aqua, gold and cream wallpaper in the powder room:

A wall of mirrors extends from floor to ceiling in the foyer:

More gorgeous wallpaper and a fabulous, ruffled shower curtain in the guest bath:

Thank you, Amy, for letting us peek into your beautiful home!

YAY! It looks better in your photos. I had no idea what an amazing photographer you are! Oh, so many talents, Mrs. Stivers.

Also, I meant to text you last night when I got home, but my phone was messed up. I love how the coffee table looks. I was STRUGGLING with it. So, thank you! I apologize for the fake plant. I cannot keep plants alive. I'm sure you noticed all the dead ones. 🙂

I can't wait to get your help with the den and, hopefully, some other rooms!

I have Rhodesian Teak floors in my flat here in London …. interesting accents indeed!!! Don't think I've ever seen a mirrored backsplash in a kitchen before – but it works. It also adds a fun factor to the kitchen. kudos xX

Do you have any idea where she got that gorgeous chandelier in her kitchen? It is absolutely stunning!

    Thanks
